We visited Bangalore in late June for our friends' wedding. It was incredible.
The mehndi party (above) on Friday night was such a fun event with henna, dinner, and dancing. My sari kept coming unpinned on the dancefloor, so I met a lot of aunties pulling me aside to tuck and re-pin all night. The groom's cousin is a choreographer, and he taught us some sweet moves on the dancefloor. :)
We had some free time on Saturday to explore Bangalore a bit. We spent an afternoon wandering around an open-air market before finally finding the flower market inside. I can only imagine how packed it was that morning. We climbed an extra flight of stairs to get the view from above – it was so fun to see people chatting, selling, and bartering on a weekend afternoon.
I wish I had shot more film in Bangalore – there's one roll I lost to fate, and the rest of the time I was too busy soaking it all in. I'd love to go back, I can see myself living in Bangalore for a month. I miss the kindness of strangers, the giant palms, the smell of sweet flowers and spices, the way everything flows together in one big giant tangled web of people and buildings and streets and bikes and dogs that somehow all flows together. <3
